A comparative test was carried out at the G.TEAM CAR technical centre in Via Colombarotto 16 IMOLA (Bologna) Italy, to verify the validity of the Skeletime® system under equal conditions, in order to have a general indication of the advantages in terms of productivity and quality results, compared to a standard sanding process with a rubber backing pad and manual block.

On four twin pairs of *PANELS (A/mudguard, B/door 1, C/hood, D/door 2), pre-painted with the same shade, a dent was created in the same spot (recorded on video and available for those who request it).

For each pair of Panels:

The only variable was the use of the Skeletime® system.

One was sanded in the traditional way with a sander equipped with a rubber backing pad and manual block.

The other was sanded with the same sander equipped with the patented Skeletime® system.

All other materials (filler, primer, paint, abrasives) and operators were identical.

Reflection of this test using Skeletime® System:

International repair is calculated on average in 2.6 panels per car.

  • Sanding: Minus 11:00 minutes on average per panel.
  • Painting: Minus 11:00 minutes on average per panel.
  • Painting + sanding: Minus 22:00 minutes on average per panel.

Minus 57:02 minutes for 2.6 panels/car on average

Key points:

  1. High sanding quality: Perfect level thanks to the steel blade and flexibility suitable for curved surfaces.
  2. Less fatigue: Reduction of manual sanding.
  3. Reduced times: More panels processed in less time.
  4. Efficient dust extraction: Less pollution and defects in the final result.
  5. Longer life of the abrasive discs: Better use and conservation of the material.
  6. Increased productivity: An operator can process a greater number of panels maintaining the same fixed costs.
  7. Performance Analysis: When used correctly, it can sand up to 300 cars. (Based on average Skeletime® sanding times per panel, multiplied by 2.6 and average kit life of 200 hours)
  8. Benefits for distributors: An innovative offer that improves customer productivity and increases sales of consumer goods.

The Skeletime system combines quality, productivity and profitability, while improving the working conditions and overall performance of body shops.

N.B. – The test was carried out for comparison purposes only, to have a general indication of the productivity advantages of the patented Skeletime® system compared to the traditional system used in body shops (sander with rubber backing pad, combined with manual block). The results obtained and reported serve exclusively to provide a value as reliable as possible and we invite anyone who wants more precise and detailed indications to independently carry out the tests they deem most appropriate. Obviously, by changing products, abrasives, equipment or operator the numbers could vary, the aspect to underline is that the difference in sanding times will remain constant in percentage terms.
